MARKREE CASTLE WEDDING // NIAMH & BRI

Niamh and Brianne were due to be one of my first 2020 weddings but with the start of the pandemic this was not to be and they ended up with four different wedding dates, never giving up the dream of their Irish wedding at the epic Markree Castle in Sligo. Thankfully by the time their fourth date came around, restrictions relaxed and they no longer had the problem of quarantine on arrival, their nerves of steel paid off!

Niamh is from Strabane and Brianne is from LA, where the couple live (including Niamh’s sister Cliona). I felt the emotion and happiness of Niamh and Brianne marrying and the joy of reuniting with family in Ireland. Even though the pandemic has been a very tough time in our lives, I really do think it made their day even more special.

A few extra mentions here! Niamh’s mum, Jo, and her aunt Cathy who made her stunning dress and flower girl Evie’s dress and talented Evie who put on an Irish dance for the guests after the meal. I think I also need to mention their alternative wedding cake! Jo told me the girls always have to visit McColgan’s Foodhall whenever they are home and so there was never any question where they would buy their fab and unique cake! Once again Markree Castle provided a wonderful reception for the couple including the service in their stunning and intimate chapel. Great to work with Enda Harte, registered solemniser, who officiated with a warm and emotional service. Congratulations, I loved being part of your day x
