Oakfield Park, Donegal // North West Brides Magazine Shoot

It’s funny to think that back in February 2020 our biggest issue was snow at Oakfield Park for the spring/summer shoot, North West Brides Magazine! It had snowed overnight but with deadlines pressing and everyone arranged we decided to go ahead. For the first look there was still quite a bit of snow, we tried to put down bin bags and brush away snow but it wasn’t happening, hence no full length shots!!

Oakfield Park in Raphoe is a fantastic option for a wedding venue. So many areas for photographs, definitely one to check out as an alternative option to the traditional hotel wedding, it even has it’s own train!

For this edition I also shot a number of looks for the grooms style with Richy Donnelly as our model. I loved this addition to the shoot as the grooms style is just as important. I think he proves he’s as good in front of the camera as he is on the field! Great to work with you Richy, a total gentleman. Our female model was the gorgeous Lucy Browne of The Style Academy and was totally effortless to work with, such a natural beauty.

Thanks to all the girls working as a team. Everything blended perfect, hair and makeup looked beautiful, dresses, hair accessories and jewellery stunning and once again Roisin from Nettles & Petals provided the most gorgeous floral display and bouquet. I’m also a bit of a fan of the designs by Foxglove Wedding Stationery, Oonagh is one talented lady! For the grooms suits, I have a soft spot for the tux so for me it was the red velvet jacket!

Working behind the scenes and keeping everything moving and us all laughing was Catherine and her sister Claire. We compared steps at the end of the shoot and boy were they on the move a lot keeping everything in check!
